He received his Masters Degree with honors from this institution and afterwards won the First Prize of Virtuosity and the Paderewski Award from the Conservatoire in Geneva. He also studied in England with Denise Lassimonne, the adopted daughter and assistant of Tobias Matthay. He continued his studies with Alicia de Laroccha, Rudolf Serkin, George Szell and with Pierre Fournier for chamber music.
William Grant Naboré has played with important orchestras (Orchestra dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Orchestre Suisse Romande, Orchestra Verdi Milano, Munich Chamber Orchestra) and with prestigious ensembles such as the Amadeus, Talich and Gabrieli Quartets and the Munich String Trio.
Of a rare musical erudition and authority, he is one of the most respected and celebrated piano pedagogues of today and has formed some of the finest young pianists. He has given Masterclasses all over the world and was the founding director of the International Piano Foundation “Theo Lieven” in 1993 and in 2002 with Martha Argerich as Honorary President he created the International Piano Academy Lake Como on the shores of the famous lake.
In 2017 he received the Vendome Award from the Orpheus Foundation of Switzerland for his outstanding contribution to classical music in discovering, nurturing and promoting exceptional young pianists.
His fine discography is broad and eclectic.
